How to get a Hollywood smile

Your smile is one of the first things that people notice about you so it is important to make sure that your teeth are in great condition

Good oral hygiene and regular check-ups with a reputable dental practice are key to maintaining healthy teeth but sometimes there may be things about your teeth that you do not like.

Dr Thang Nghiem, clinical director at Ultrasmile* Dentistry, the award-winning practice in London’s Limehouse Basin has some great advice for achieving a great smile:

Tooth straighening
There are various orthodontic ways to straighten your teeth, but one of the latest and most popular treatments is Invisalign, which is a system that uses almost invisible plastic aligners. Many UK celebrities are now wearing Invisalign aligners – but no-one except their dentist knows.  This system can take several months so plan ahead. Prices start from £1995

Crowns, inlays and veneers
One of the most exciting new technologies is Cerec 3, which enables you to have an inlay, crown or veneer in one visit.  Cerec 3 is not suitable for all patients so again plan ahead. Prices start from £675

Porcelain veneers
These have long been used to create the ultimate smile makeover. With these wafer-thin laminates it’s possible to transform crooked, stained, damaged or badly worn teeth into a brand new, straight, white smile, as seen on many of the Hollywood greats. This treatment can be done in about a month although if you need straightening beforehand it may take longer. Prices start from £895 per veneer

Bonding
Bonding can make your teeth look like new, if you have chipped your front teeth this is often a cheaper and quicker alternative to veneers. It can usually be sorted out in one visit. Prices start from £195 per tooth

Dental implants
If you have missing teeth and don’t want to have a denture, you can try dental implants.  Dental implants are becoming increasingly popular but again this treatment takes time so make sure you consult your dentist in plenty of time.
Prices start from £1995 per implant

Tooth whitening
This can change the way you look fairly easily.  Stained teeth are one of the major ageing things about us, as teeth naturally stain and darken with age. This treatment takes about 1-2 hours and could get your teeth up to eight shades whiter.  Another alternative to this is the cheaper and quicker UltraSmile* Sparkle Diamond Polish which will give your teeth a great clean and gloss treatment and will remove surface stains in just 45 minutes. Prices start from £95 for the Diamond Polish and £395 for the whitening
