Unseen Royal Photographs to be Auctioned for Charity

An unseen Royal Collection of rare photographic images discovered in the attic of Royal photographer, the late W. Jones, and curated by Lady Victoria Hervey, is being unveiled at the Red Eight Gallery, London. Ten images will be auctioned as part of celebrations for the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III on 6th May 2023. Three charities will benefit from the proceeds of an auction on the night, Descendants, Sports Traider and Preserve our Wild.

The total collection has been digitised and will be on view for the first time, offering a rare opportunity to get a glimpse of this unique collection of 24 photos from past major Royal events.

A glittering red carpet affair will see Lady Victoria Hervey host the evening with guest Royal Historian Ian Pelham Turner on hand to add context and background to these timeless treasures. DJ Johnny Wobble will be playing Ibiza Chill with drinks by Oeono.

Lady Victoria Hervey says: “I am truly honoured and proud to have been asked to host the Unseen Royal Collection at the Red Eight Gallery in the Royal Exchange. The selection of images is not only unique but also incredibly significant, as they will never be seen again, just like the historic Coronation of King Charles III. This exhibition offers a rare and exclusive glimpse into the rich and fascinating history of the British Monarchy, and I cannot wait to share this experience with the public”.

Julian Usher, CEO of Red Eight Gallery in the Royal Exchange says: “It is a great pleasure to be a part of an extraordinary evening hosted by Lady Victoria Hervey and presented by Red Eight Gallery. The centrepiece of this event will be the unveiling of ten exquisite Royal photographs, which are both rare and previously unseen. We are thrilled to be able to auction these pieces to raise money for charity, benefitting three charitable organisations, further amplifying the significance of this occasion”.

Ivan Gette’s MATRYOSCHKA collection will be adorning the walls of the Red Eight Gallery with Ivan present whilst the Unseen Royal Collection occupies easels across two floors.
