Traditional Cream Tea Scones

The perfect accompaniment to a pot of freshly brewed tea.

There are many ways in which reducing your added sugar intake can have a positive impact on your day-to-day life. This includes helping with weight management, which can help reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Cutting down on added sugar may seem like a daunting task as it appears in so many of the things we like to eat on a daily basis. However, there is a simple way to reduce sugar in our diets without the need to give up many of the sweeter foods we enjoy.

By simply swapping the sugar we add to many of our sweet treats for a low-calorie sweetener such as Splenda or other artificial sweeteners, you can continue to satisfy your sweet tooth without all of the calories of sugar. Making this small change can decrease your caloric intake from added sugar whist still allowing you to maintain a healthy, balanced and enjoyable diet.

You can use artificial sweeteners such as Splenda in your morning cuppa tea or even use it in your cakes and bakes, dressings and dips, where the options are endless. And you can do all of this without compromising on taste or texture.
