What is the difference between coconut water and coconut milk?
Coconut water and milk are often confused because they’re both popular coconut beverages. However, they’re two distinct drinks, as coconut water occurs naturally within the fruit, whereas coconut milk is a processed beverage. They also have different nutritional profiles and culinary uses.

What is the makeup of coconut water?
Coconut water is made from the clear liquid inside of green coconuts. It’s not to be confused with coconut milk, which is made from the water and the flesh inside of a mature coconut. Over 95 percent of coconut water is water.

How long does coconut water take to develop?
Six or seven months after the fruits emerge, the inside of the coconut contains mostly water, which you can harvest and drink. Over the next five or six months, the water converts to the white nut meat lining around the inside of the shell.

How much water is found in each coconut?

Coconut water is the clear liquid found inside young green coconuts. Nutritionally coconut water does contain some nutrients, including the B vitamins Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), pantothenic acid, folic acid, biotin, as well as trace amounts of thiamin (B1), Vitamin C, potassium, and sodium.
