Best babymoon getaways

You may have noticed the constant stream in the media of glowing, fresh-faced stars looking gorgeous and glamorous whilst sunning themselves and their mini-bumps on far away shores.

Rather than letting pregnancy hold them back from travelling, Hollywood celebrities are jetting off to exotic locations, from secluded islands, as in the case of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who chose to soak up the sun on the tiny Caribbean island of Mustique, to charming cultural hotspots like Rome, where Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge indulged in some pre-baby alone time.

Babymoons have become the latest in-vogue trend for couples to relax together before the challenge of parenthood sets in. The good news is that you don’t need to have the bank balance of the rich and famous to enjoy a babymoon, there are plenty of more affordable options and many resorts now offer  ‘babymoon packages’ to take advantage of.

Whether you fancy parking yourself in front of a cosy log fire or kicking back along the sparkling shores of the Mediterranean, find your perfect babymoon from these six unique destinations:

After all the fresh air make sure you have a warm and comfortable base to relax in.  Forest Holiday’s idyllic forest cabins in  Strathyre sit in dramatic countryside, along the pine-fringed banks of Loch Lubnaig and are watched over by the magnificent Ben Ledi, which stands nearly 3,000 feet tall.

Argyll Forest Park is another spectacular loch-side location where rugged countryside meets the shores of the majestic Loch Long. From here you can explore the local towns and villages such as Ardgartan, Arrochar and Inverary, which are lovely spots to explore the region’s food and heritage.  Forest Holidays’ luxury cabins in Strathyre and Argyll include a cosy fireplace and hot tub,  and offer a wide range of in cabin pampering experiences including a special mummy-to-be package with a 2 hour organic massage and facial with scalp massage.
