Jamie Oliver has criticised young people for not being willing enough to work hard

The celebrity chef is renowned for speaking his mind, especially when it comes to what the nation eats.

In his new television series, titled Jamie’s Dream School, he gets celebrities and well-known academics to try and encourage school drop-outs to aim high in their working career.

Speaking to The Observer, Oliver explained that he was shocked at the lazy attitude of many British children as he compared them to young Europeans, who he says are much more likely to put in a hard days graft.

A poll, carried out by YouGov, has shown that the public are also siding with Jamie Oliver’s views.

They revealed that 62 per cent of those questioned agreed that young people in Britain are not prepared to work hard.

Youth unemployment figures, for young people aged between 16 and 24, are currently at a record high, with one in five young people now jobless.
