Bring Christmas memories to life with Christmas Nostalgia at Blenheim Palace
|
It only comes once a year so make this Christmas extra special for you and your loved ones with a day out at one of these fantastic winter wonderlands
Merry Medieval Christmas, Tower of London
This yuletide step back to 1284 and experience all the facets of a Merry Medieval Christmas at The Tower of London. Make your way into the Medieval Palace and feast your eyes on a spectacular (and delicious) thirteenth century banquet, before getting into the Christmas spirit with the court of King Edward I. A party of performers will be there to greet you with jokes, singing and enough Christmas fun and frolics to keep both young and old entertained for hours. From 27–31 December
Christmas Nostalgia – Toys, Treats and Treasures, Blenheim Palace
Take some time to remember Christmases gone by this festive season with “Christmas Nostalgia – Toys, Treats and Treasures” at Blenheim Palace. The magnificent Christmas trees and treasured yuletide gifts of antique toys, teddy bears and train sets will warm your heart. On your trip down memory lane, be sure to stop and sample the treats on offer in the Long Library or the Saloon, where a spectacular Christmas table will boast a “teddy bears feast” of fruits and spices. Carol singers, organists and brass bands will be on hand to set the mood and bring your childhood Christmas memories to life each Sunday. From 14 November to 13 December
Lapland UK, Kent
For a Christmas like no other head to Lapland UK, where you can visit Santa Claus and his elves in their UK home. Now in its fourth year, this unique experience sees the snowy woodlands of Kent transformed into a winter wonderland of fantastic festive fun. Armed with a personal invitation from Father Christmas, children are free to work alongside the elves in the Toy Factory, bake delicious gingerbread with Mother Christmas in her kitchen, and help out in the North Pole Post Office. Along the way they can meet Santa’s reindeer and, of course, Santa himself. The experience lasts four to five hours and must be booked in advance. From 14 November to 24 December
Victorian Festival of Christmas, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
Get in the Christmas spirit this festive season at the tenth annual Victorian Festival of Christmas at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Families can experience the magic of a Dickensian-style bygone era where snow lines the streets and the lights from the fairground brighten the sky. Sample some delicious hot mulled wine in Fagin’s Tavern, enjoy parlour games and Punch and Judy shows, sing along with the carol singers, and visit a traditional green Victorian Father Christmas. Visitors will be met by a string of colourful characters, including Fagin, the Town Crier and grumpy old Mr Scrooge. Look out for Queen Victoria leading the twilight parade as the festival draws to a close. From 27–29 November
Winter Wonderland at The SnowDome, Tamworth
The SnowDome’s Winter Wonderland makes its return for an unmissable few weeks of spectacular festive fun. With real snow, reindeer and a magnificent stage show starring children’s favourites Sooty, Sweep and Soo, Tamworth’s largest winter event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all the family. Young and old can play in the snow, hitch a ride on a sledge or venture through the magical Christmas forest, all in the lead up to Santa’s grand appearance later in the day. If you’re lucky he might even let you have a peek around his house and sit in his sleigh! From 27 November to 31 December,

Among many religions, a feast is a set of celebrations in honor of God or gods. A feast and a festival are historically interchangeable. However, the term "feast" has also entered common secular parlance as a synonym for any large or elaborate meal. When used as in the meaning of a festival, most often refers to a religious festival rather than a film or art festival. free bingo

I have some extended family who live in Lapland UK. I've heard many good things. I really want to go to the UK. Any volunteers want to pay for my flight?
