Women over the age of 30 who exercise regularly could reduce their risk of the disease
According to a new medical study women over the age of 30 who exercise for more than one hour a week significantly cut their chance of developing breast cancer.
The study, by the University of Northern Colorado also found that fewer women who said they were ‘highly competitive’ between the ages of 30 and 50 developed breast cancer, compared to women who were less active.
The chances of developing breast cancer didn’t change in relation to exercise in women between the ages of 10 and 30.
Lisa Sprod, who led the study said, ‘preliminarily, the take home message is that accumulating greater physical activity after the age of 30 may play a role in reducing the risk of breast cancer’.
