New research shows more than half of British people are swapping the sun, sand and sea for a holiday close to home
Research from Legal & General shows 57 per cent of Brits are holidaying in Britain or staying at home this Easter weekend in a bid to save money, deterred by the weakening pound. 21 per cent of respondants said they plan to holiday in the UK , whilst 18 per cent said they won’t be holidaying at all.
The survey showed almost 20 per cent of families with children were likely to stay in the UK, compared with just 10 per cent of couples without children.
VisitBritain launched a £6.5 million campaign this year to encourage Brits to holiday at home, whilst Pontin’s holiday camp is flourishing with bookings up by 30% this year.
Don’t be down-hearted at the thought of missing out on your fortnight in Florida, now is the perfect time to disover England’s hidden treasures.
