More people are choosing to shop online

Online sales have had their fastest growth pace since before the recession
It is estimated that UK shoppers spent an average £5bn online in June, an 18 per cent growth spurt from the previous year.
The dramatic rise is thought to be due to the wet weather, which has encouraged people to shop online instead of going outside.
Travel sales have also increased by a third compared to the previous year. IMRG have suggested that this may have also been caused by the weather with people heading for sunnier climes to escape the UK’s disappointing summer.
Chris Webster, head of retail consulting and technology at Capgemini, which publishes the online sales index with IMRG, said, ‘It is encouraging to see growth levels returning to those seen before consumer confidence was knocked by the financial crisis and the recession.’
